For my Masters of Fine Arts thesis project, I was tasked with taking an issue and addressing it or solving it through art and design. I decided to tackle the issue of childhood food insecurity in rural America. I wrote and illustrated a 40 page graphic novel for young children about a boy who just wants to help his class win the school kickball tournament but has to deal with the physical, emotional, and social effects of food insecurity instead.
